Boxing Australia Insurance Program

This guide is designed to help all members, coaches, officials, and Member Associations understand their insurance coverage under Boxing Australia.

Who is covered under Boxing Australia insurance?

The Boxing Australia Insurance Program provides cover for:

  • Registered boxers.
  • Registered and accredited coaches under the Boxing Australia accreditation program.
  • Registered and accredited officials under the Boxing Australia accreditation program.
  • Boxing Australia and its Member Associations, including directors, volunteers, and employees.

Coverage applies only when participating in training, competitions, and events that are sanctioned by Boxing Australia or its Member Associations.

*Registered means – Individuals who are registered through a Boxing Australia affiliated Member Association in accordance with the Constitution and regulations of Boxing Australia.

Member Association are also covered for Management Liability, which includes protection for directors and office holders.

What is Not covered:

The following are not covered under the Boxing Australia Insurance Program:

  • Boxing gyms, coaching businesses, or coaches operating independently and training non-registered members, recreational participants, or trialists.
  • Any training or sparring involving participants who are not registered with Boxing Australia or its Member Associations.
      - If a non-accredited coach trains a registered boxer, the boxer is not covered.
      - If a non-registered boxer spars with a registered boxer, the registered boxer is not covered.

Club/gym operations – should you wish to take out additional coverage as a registered club/gym through your Member Association (and subsequently Boxing Australia), Gallagher Insurance has set up a separate discounted program available. Please reach out to sport@ajg.com.au 

 


Important Notice to Members

The Boxing Australia Insurance Program is designed to provide a standard level of coverage for registered members. It does not consider individual financial circumstances or personal needs.

Boxing Australia strongly recommends that all members arrange their own personal insurance to complement the Boxing Australia coverage, including:

  • Private Health Insurance.
  • Life Insurance.
  • Income Protection Insurance.

This ensures that members have comprehensive protection suited to their personal situations.

 


Policies Included in the Program

The Boxing Australia Insurance Program consists of:

  • Public Liability and Management Liability Policy – Covers the legal liability of registered members, officials, coaches, and Member Associations for injury or damage to third parties during sanctioned boxing activities.
  • Player Accident Cover – Provides benefits for injuries sustained while participating in sanctioned boxing training and events.
