Boxing Australia Announces Appointment of Interim Chief Executive Officer

Boxing Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Paul Grogan as Interim Chief Executive Officer, commencing on 16 September 2026.

Paul brings a unique depth of experience to the role, having previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Boxing Australia and worked at the Australian Sports Commission.That combination of first-hand knowledge of Boxing Australia and its people, and an insider's understanding of the national high performance governance and funding system, means Paul can hit the ground running from day one.

Boxing Australia President Phillip Goodes welcomed the appointment:

“Paul's history with Boxing Australia, combined with his experience at the ASC, gives us immediate continuity and confidence at an important time for the sport as we progress toward LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032. It's rare to find someone who already knows both this organisation and the system around it as well as Paul does.”

Paul will report to the Boxing Australia Board for the duration of his appointment. Boxing Australia thanks Marcelo Cabezas for his stewardship as Acting Chief Executive Officer throughout the transition period.
