Head Coach Mr Pittman said the tournament represents an important benchmark in the athletes’ progression.
“This competition is a key development opportunity for our boxers. Facing high-quality international opposition is critical to building ring IQ, resilience, and consistency at the elite level. We’re confident this team will represent Australia with pride and professionalism.”
The Futures Cup aligns with World Boxing’s vision of strengthening global pathways for youth and emerging elite athletes. For Australia, the tournament forms part of a broader high-performance strategy aimed at sustained international success.
CEO Dinah Glykidis added “International competition is essential in preparing athletes for major events, including world championships and future Olympic cycles. We are excited to see this talented group test themselves on the world stage.”
The team will commence their preparation from 25 February to 6 March in Thailand with competition commencing on Sunday 8 March 2026. Updates and results will be shared via Boxing Australia's official channels throughout the tournament.
