Australia's female Olympic hopefuls Kristy Harris (VIC), Shelley Watts (NSW) and Caitlin Parker (WA) are currently training alongside the USA Boxing Team during a 2-week training camp.

The camp is taking place at the USA Olympic Training Centre in Colorado Springs, Colorado 20 February - 1 March 2016.

National Head Coach Kevin Smith said ‘The opportunity to train with the USA team will give our boxers great preparation leading into the Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifying Tournament. The Americans won two medals at the 2012 Games and it will be a valuable experience to train alongside and spar with Olympic standard athletes, while also learning from their high performance environment and coaches. Training and sparring with Olympic medallists on a daily basis will also inspire our women to achieve their full potential'.

Australia’s female boxers will have their first opportunity to qualify for the Rio Olympics at the Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifying Tournament in China 23 March – 3 April, where a top-2 finish would earn a Rio berth.
