Fitness Coach Presenter Training

Boxing Australia is pleased to announce the first Fitness Coach Presenter’s Course will be held at the AIS from the 5th to 7th of August.

The Fitness Coach Program has been accredited under the Australian Sports Commissions National Coach Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) as a ‘community’ based program.

The trained Presenters will then deliver the accredited course in their respective State or Territory to interested individuals.

The Fitness Coach accreditation will allow individuals to deliver fitness classes to participants in their existing club structure and to attract more people to become involved with their local Boxing clubs.

This is a great way to attract more people to become registered with your club and also provides another income stream for the clubs and Fitness Coaches who deliver the classes.

It is important to note that people who complete the Fitness Coach Course will not be registered as ‘Coaches’ of Boxing and as such, cannot assume any of the duties of a Level 1 accredited Coach.

The Fitness Program

A Boxing Fitness training session is a high energy group activity that incorporates a variety of training methods, including high-intensity interval training, sport-specific circuit training and resistance training to ensure participants have a challenging but highly rewarding experience.

The sessions require little equipment, making them very easy to implement and deliver.

Because of the way the program is structured, it is able to engage with more members compared to the more traditional boxing for fitness sessions.

The program is based around the delivery of multiple classes per week with attendees paying a fee per person per session.

Participants would be encouraged to sign up for a 10 week program and part of their fee would register them as a member of their State or Territory Association. This would include Insurance coverage which has been negotiated with the National Insurer at no additional cost.

Next steps:

The first thing for potential Presenters to do is to make contact with your State or Territory Association Committee to express your interest in becoming involved.

It is the responsibility of the Committee to determine who they will nominate and possibly support to attend this Training course.

Once trained, the Presenters will work with their Committee to put in place an action plan to drive the program out into the membership.

It is suggested that the Committees choose different people to those who are currently involved in rolling out the Coaching courses. This is a different program with a different target audience.
