The Board of Boxing Australia has appointed Jamie Pittman Boxing Australia’s National Coach.

Jamie will be Head Coach of Australian Under 19’s and Under 17 National Teams and the Head Coach of Boxing Australia’s National Futures Program.

Kevin Smith, as Boxing Head Coach at CombatAus, will continue as Head Coach of Australian Elite National Teams.

On the establishment of CombatAus (the Combat Institute of Australia) the Boxing Australia Board, following the commitment of the Australian Sports Commission to provide substantially higher funding support of Boxing than otherwise would be provided if control of the High Performance Program remained with Boxing Australia, ceded control of Australia’s Boxing High Performance Program to CombatAus for the period leading to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Similarly, CombatAus conducts the High Performance Programs of Judo Australia and Australian Taekwondo and is forming associate relationships with Wrestling Australia and Australian Fencing. CombatAus is governed by a Board that includes members nominated by Boxing Australia, Judo Australia and Australian Taekwondo and presently is funded by the Australian Sports Commission although it is intended it will generate private sector support.
