I have been boxing since I was 10, and I have always loved playing sports. Before boxing I played tennis and touch footy. I really like music and camping, although I hardly ever go camping!

What are your strengths as both and athlete and a person

I think one of my strengths as a person is that I have gained resilience from boxing.

What are you looking forward to most at the world championships

It is my first international competition representing Australia so I am mostly looking forward to competing with other girls from around the globe, and of course the experience of representing my country!

What has your daily routine looked like before the world championships

At the moment it has been early morning training before school and then training again in the afternoon.

What are you focusing on improving on at the moment

Being able to adjust and change my style to suit any boxer well and quickly.

What is your preferred pre bout routine

Before a fight I like to just relax, listen to music before I start my warm up.

What are your goals as a boxer

To hopefully win gold at these Championships and also at the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

What is one important lesson you’ve learned as your time as an athlete

If you want something you have to work for it.

What drives you to get up in the morning and got to training everyday

Seeing myself standing on the podium with a medal around my neck.

Do you have any advice to young people wanting to start a career in boxing

Just stick with it. There are times where it gets hard but just remember why you’re doing it and have fun!
